a little background
Jason is a California born writer, residing in Long Beach and a CSULB graduate, class of 2019. During his academic career he spent a year as Arts & Life Editor for the Daily 49er, resulting in over 100 bylines. His specialty included writing about music, art and performance, as well as community event coverage and profiles of Long Beach's most inspiring people. He then spent half a year interning for Long Beach 908 where he utilized these specialties to write about those who best exemplify the spirit of the city. Most recently we worked with a start-up blog site in 2020 called Aroono, hired on to run the Movie Aroono subsite. Much like his year with the Daily 49er, Jason managed a team of writers, hearing pitches and offering assignments. He maintained the schedule to assure no laps in regular content, and most importantly edited articles for grammatical errors (this last part's especially important considering not all writers used English as a primary language) and helping writers conceptually to assure their content was as interesting as possible. He of course wrote quite a few movie blogs himself to fill space (and because he loves movies). Unfortunately, the site is down due to lack of funding, but he's happy to show his movie articles to anyone who will ask.
